SAAB Framework
A Robust Adversarial Attack Framework for Enhanced Software Vulnerability Detection Systems
Biswash Kunwar, Dr. Prasanthi Sreekumari
Modern software vulnerability detection systems often struggle with false positives, false negatives, and susceptibility to adversarial attacks. This paper proposes the SAAB Framework (SHAP-Aware Adversarial BiLSTM), a novel approach combining: SHAP for interpretable feature importance analysis, SVM to filter critical code patterns, BiLSTM with Attention to model code semantics and context, and Foolbox to test robustness via adversarial examples.
Key Contributions:
- •Unified pipeline for vulnerability detection and adversarial testing.
- •Improved interpretability through SHAP-driven feature ranking.
- •Demonstrated method to harden models against adversarial attacks.
